The price and underlying value of research is subject to greater scrutiny, with buyside and sellside companies seeing small and midsize company coverage suffer the biggest drop in research quality. Some 53% of respondents to a survey by French investor-relations association CLIFF in 2019 say they have seen an overall decline in quality, rising to 67% for companies with a market capitalization of less than 50 million euros. That said, since MiFID II a number of companies have emerged to invest in smaller companies, including Odyssean Capital and Standard Life Aberdeen. #stocktalk
