Circuit breakers could certainly be triggered tonight in S&P 500 e-mini futures trading and there are some rules to be aware of.
In mid-October, the CME Group created a “dynamic circuit breaker” rule. If stocks move 3.5% within an hour, a trading halt will be instituted. Otherwise, the 7% limit up level is what to watch for (up from the 5% previously.)
